Inspiration four: Taylor Swift.

For a small town girl, my 4th inspiration has made it big. And when I say big, I mean huge. Taylor Alison Swift, the twenty one year old, Pennsylvania born, awkward girl, has become one of my heroes. You obviously live under a rock if you've never heard one of her songs, or seen something written about her in a paper, on a website, or in a magazine.

For me, Taylor Swifts songs have been the soundtracks to my life since about sixth grade. I'm now entering my senior year, and to have someone who you can listen to, without having to exaggerate reality, for six years of your life..is pretty incredible. Her songs are real, and raw, and make you want to believe in love, change, heartbreak, and life. The first song I ever heard by Taylor Swift, was of course "Tim McGraw". Once I found Taylor, I really got into country music..and for lack of a better expression..it went downhill from there. I now listen to allllllllllll kinds of country. She opened the doors to our generation of teens, to the world of country. Her talent is undeniable, and she still stays down to earth, even after multi-platinum albums, sold out concert tours, and girls falling to their knees for her(like me).

Another thing that is blatant about Miss Swift, is her style. She's country and classy..while still being the 21 year old that she is. She hasn't fallen to the sick media who tries to ruin girls her age with sex scandals and trashy photos. This is why I perceive her as an icon to our generation. Her outfits never lack the flare that will always be in country, the glam and the glitz, as well as the big hair...which everyone loves. Taylors hair is naturally curly, which many girls like me could only work for hours on.

Capturing beauty, teenage love, heartbreak, change, pure emotion, and so much more is not usually achievable to most people. At twenty one, Taylor Swift has managed to do not only those things, but so much more. It gives us hope, and happiness, and a good, clean song to listen to in the car.

"It's never been about trying to look well-behaved. It's just how I am. I guess it's a weird thing to be 19 and not ever have been drunk, but for me, it just feels normal because I don't really know any other way. I don't know if I'd be comfortable getting wasted and not knowing what I've said. That doesn't mean when I'm older I won't have a glass of wine. I just don't think it's such a strange thing for me not to be wasted all the time."

Taylor Alison Swift-

"To me, Fearless is not the absense of fear. It's not being completely unafraid. To me, Fearless is having fears. Fearless is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, Fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you to death."

"When I was a little girl I used to read fairy tales. In fairy tales you meet Prince Charming and he's everything you ever wanted. In fairy tales the bad guy is very easy to spot. The bad guy is always wearing a black cape so you always know who he is. Then you grow up and you realize that Prince Charming is not as easy to find as you thought. You realize the bad guy is not wearing a black cape and he's not easy to spot; he's really funny, and he makes you laugh, and he has perfect hair."

"Your lucky enough to be different, never change"

"No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind."

So thank you, Miss Taylor Swift, for being a hero to all of us, and remaining strong and proud of who you are, where you came from, and where you're going. You're not only a staple in the country music world, but in all genres. You're nothing less than an amazing inspiration.
